Respiratory Therapy Program

The Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy degree program provides students with an exceptional education to prepare for a rewarding professional career as advanced Respiratory Therapist, as well as to provide a foundation for leadership in management and supervision, education, research, and clinical specialization.

This program prepares students to provide professional respiratory therapy in health care settings ranging from the emergency room to the patient’s home. The program provides the necessary knowledge and skills to begin clinical practice and promotes continual career growth.

A Respiratory Therapist is a member of the healthcare team who takes care of patients with respiratory problems by participating in diagnosing and managing specific patient cases. Moreover, the respiratory therapist is involved in prevention and health promotion programs for individuals and society. The respiratory therapy has had many successes and achieved many accomplishments. The following is a list of some of these key achievements since 2009: (researches, graduates, labs, classes, employed faculty and scholars).

The KSAU-HS enjoys the opportunity and significant advantage of being associated with the King Abdulaziz Medical City for students’ clinical practice. King Abdulaziz Medical City is a tertiary hospital with a capacity of 1,300 beds and has highly qualified staff with high-tech equipment, doing procedures and surgeries, and thus providing students with an excellent environment for clinical practice and gaining experience.
