Al Tarbiyah Al Namouthajiyah school Visit
The College of Applied Medical Sciences - female branch hosted students from Al Tarbiyah Al Namouthajiyah school on 5 March 2015. Dr. Noran Aboalela,Assistant Professor in Genetics introduced the students to genetic topics including:
- Mendelian inheritance, pedigrees and their application in genetic counseling.
- Genes, mutations and genetic disorders.
- Chromosomes, chromosomal anomalies and syndromes.
The application of genetics in the clinical laboratory was then illustrated followed by hands-on chromosomal analysis (Karyotyping)
The students were very interactive, knowledgeable and expressed their enjoyment and interest.
