Simulation Workshop
The Emergency Medical Services Department, COAMS, KSAU-HS, has conducted the Simulation Workshop on Wednesday 17th December, 2014. The aim of the workshop is:
- Review the history of the simulation development. • Introduce the necessity of simulation in healthcare.
- Recognize “how Simulation can be used to improve education.” • Learn “how to apply simulation in healthcare education.”
- Understand the multiple applications of simulation in education process.
The workshop provided an overview of the evolution of Simulation in the Medical Sciences, applications in education process and knowledge in clinical skills. There were designated EMS Speakers with experience in the field of Simulation and its applications.
Theoretical sessions were held in the morning:
Medical Education Medical Education Evolution by Dr. Nawfal Al Jerian. Integrated Simulation in EMS Curriculum by Dr. Mohammed Al Mutairi. Medical Simulation: "What, How & Why" by Dr. Rakan Al Rasheed. Application of Simulation in Disaster Medicine by Dr. Sami Yousif.
Practical sessions were held in the afternoon that includes simulation cases and debriefing. These sessions were held in the Advanced EMS Lab.
