First Aid Workshop
The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Department has conducted "First Aid Workshop" in cooperation with students' club from the College of Applied Medical Sciences. The workshop was mainly focused on providing first aid for the most important emergency cases, which are supposed to be made aware to the community in order to educate them on dealing with each of those emergency cases.
The workshop started with a brief lecture about the main emergency cases that include heart attack, epilepsy, and fractures. Each case was defined, risk factors were discussed and the methodology to recognize if some has one of those emergency cases or not was explained. Procedures of dealing with each patient were highlighted. After this, all the participants were asked to go directly to the skills lab at the emergency department to practice what was explained in the lecture for each emergency case. At the end of the workshop, question and answer session was organized to clarify the quarries. Also, the participants were allowed to practice the first aids for each emergency case. All the participants gave positive feedback about this workshop and conveyed their eagerness for more such activities that are aimed at the welfare of the community.
