Healthy Kids: Campaigns & Programs
The Healthy Kids campaign has been conducted under the supervision of “Leen volunteer Club”. CLNS program students’ have represented the College of Applied Medical Sciences (COAMS) in this campaign. The program of the campaign aimed to support children to become fitter, healthier and happier. The program is fun and interactive, supporting children from birth to school age and their families to adopt a long lasting and healthy approach to life. The program focusses on improving: eating habits, fitness, teamwork and overall health. The event has taken place in several locations in Riyadh; King Abdullah Specialist Children's Hospital (two days), Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman University (one day) and Hayat Mall (two days). Educational brochures were prepared by CLNS program students’ and were distributed to the families during the campaign. Information regarding healthy snacks for kids, the importance of breakfast and dietary recommendation for this age group was included in the learning materials. Fresh mild and nuts were also distributed to the kids during the events to encourage them to replace the sweetened drinks and high fat/sugar sweet with much healthier options.
