Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Day
The College of Applied Medical Sciences, KSAU-HS has organized the first “Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Day” on 31 December 2012 honored by Prof. Youssef Al Eissa Vice President of Educational Affairs on behalf of his Excellency Dr. Bandar al Knawy President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences.
A large number of EMS paramedics and emergency medical specialists from various medical schools and hospitals in Riyadh gathered to discuss emergency and disaster management topics. The topics were presented by experts in disaster medicine and EMS. Dr. Abdullah Al Anazi, Dean of College of Applied Medical Sciences, spoke about the importance of EMS as he stated that EMS is indispensable in any modern and specialized medical work environment. The roles of EMS are ever expanding and encompass a series of important responsibilities starting from a patient’s well-being and recovery to handling major disorders. Hence, EMS is evolving to be the backbone of hospital’s operations. At the end of the Emergency Medical Services (EMMS)Day Prof. Youssef Al Eissa, honored the participants for their great efforts.
