CAMS Students Participation at Hajj
The Hajj trip was a unique experience for the students. The students interacted with more than 6000 patients during their stay. They had an opportunity to see a number of rare cases which normally one gets to read only in books. The students gained good knowledge and skills.
Two teaching faculties, Dr. Nawfal Al Jerian, Associate Consultant and Mr. Abdullah Al Abdali, Lecturer accompanied the Hajj mission with MOH, 8 of our students and 2 Teaching Assistants (Mr. Abdulrahman Al Ghamdi, Mr. Meshal Al Harbi).
The students were divided into 2 groups, namely day shift and night shift. Due to our students' extraordinary practical skills, 2 hospitals (Mina Al Jiser and NGHA, Mina) were vying to take our students. The students were able to do Intubation, IV Line, Drug Administration, Patient Assessment (Medical & Trauma), patient history assessment, Physical assessment, vital sciences, triage, CPR, “BLS & ACLS”. They were able to teach medical students “How to do Procedures?”. They were able to fully run 2 out of 4 tracts of patients in the ER of Mina Al Jiser.
