This course will teach the students team building, how to manage their time effectively, how to perform brainstorming correctly, recognize opportunities of information gathering, synthesis, and analysis in solving problems and in critical thinking, and identify a root cause analysis. -
ANTC 416 - ANESTHESIA CRISIS MANAGEMENT

This course provides detailed information about the factors contributing to poor outcomes associated with airway management and highlighted deficiencies, discuss the role of anesthesia Technologist in anesthesia crisis such as failed ventilation, malignant hyperthermia, arrythmias and cardiac arrest. -
ANTC 415 - APPLIED ANESTHESIA PRACTICE

This module helps the students understanding the anesthesia consideration and preparation for specific procedures such as neurology, obstetric, orthopedic, organ transplantation, pediatric etc. This module comprises of comprehensive, structured lectures and hands-on practical sessions. -
ANTC 417 - CLINICAL PRACTICE

Students will receive an advanced hands-on experience with a mentor to integrate knowledge of proper setup, assistance for general, regional, procedural sedation cases, and case by case preparation. -
ANTC 413 - OBSTETRIC & PEDIATRIC

This course is designed to provide a quick reference for essential information about fetal and pregnant anatomical changes, types of Anesthesia for pregnant patients and congenital disease related to pediatric patients. -
ANTC 412 - RENAL AND ENDOCRINE

Course Schedule: Block system (Consists of 6 Weeks)
This block is subdivided into two components renal system and endocrine system. Renal system being the major component will be covered in first three weeks, it includes anatomy and physiology related to renal system. In addition, acute and chronic renal failure and other common diseases related will be discussed. Followed by an endocrine component of the block will be taught from 4th to 6th week of the course. It will cover the relevant anatomy and physiology with a focus on diabetes mellitus, major body glands and their disorders with relevant anesthetic implications. -
ANTC 411 - CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM

This module will provide a detailed understanding of the structure and function of the central nervous system. The Students will learn about the gross anatomy of the human brain and spinal cord and its divisions including autonomic, sensory, visual, auditory, somatosensory, olfactory, limbic systems, the ventricles and cerebrospinal fluids, and overview of glassgow coma scale. -
ANTC 318 - CLINICAL OBSERVATION II

This course is a continuation of Clinical Observation I, the students will be able to observe Anesthesia delivery at different operating rooms, different types of anesthesia at National Guard Health Affairs. In addition, This course will aid the students to corelate the theoretical knowledge into a real practice. -
ANTC 317 - CARDIOVASCULAR MODULE

Course Schedule: Block system (Consists of 6 Weeks)
This module will consist of several sections, including anatomy and physiology of cardiovascular system, common heart diseases and surgeries, essential preparation of cardiac OR, and Anesthesia consideration and management of cardiac patients. -
ANTC 316 - RESPIRATORY MODULE

This module will illustrate the anatomy and physiology of the respiratory system. Besides, how to clinically examine common respiratory disorders within the context of Anesthesia consideration and management. -
ANTC 315 - AIRWAY MANAGEMENT

This block will provide the students with a thorough knowledge of airway management and its various techniques.
Furthermore, how to establish the optimal oxygenation and ventilation for patients undergoing anesthesia. -
ANTC 314 - CLINICAL OBSERVATION I

This course will introduce Anesthesia students to the practice of anesthesia in national guard hospital, provides the student with an opportunity to experience the clinical settings and observe the members of the Anesthesia care team, and how to deliver Anesthesia in the Operating Rooms (OR), Day Care OR, and Labor & Delivery unit etc. -
ANTC 313 - ANESTHESIA PHARMACOLOGY

This course will explain the concepts of pharmacotherapeutics and establishing a knowledge base that applies to patient care and education. In addition, this block will list the major drug classifications and comprehensive overview of the Anesthesia pharmacology with emphasis on the clinically significant drugs currently used in Anesthesia practice. -
ANTC 312 - ANESTHESIA EQUIPMENT

Anesthesia equipment is major part of the future career task. This block consists of intense lecture and hands-on skill that all range from basic equipment up to advanced technology. In addition, this block will build up the preparation, handling and troubleshooting of Anesthesia equipment. -
ANTC 311 - ANESTHESIA FUNDAMENTALS

This course focuses on the fundamentals of various types of anesthesia procedures for patient care, intravenous preparation, surgical positioning for numerous surgical procedures. Introduction to basic monitoring devices and training for placing monitoring systems on patients for surgery. Anesthesia gas machine and breathing circuits are also discussed. This block will introduce the student to anesthesia practice and enhance the overall knowledge of the anesthesia principles. -
ANTC 201 - INTRODUCTION TO ANESTHESIA

ANTC 418 - ANESTHESIA CAPSTONE

This course serves as an integration of practical skills applied to the clinical settings. The student will provide supervised support during surgical procedures. Students will be expected to maintain a weekly case log of all procedures, as well as detailed case reports of procedures involving direct patient care.
